The latest Danity Kane news, DK has been nominated in BET's Best Group category in the 2008 BET awards program. Danity Kane is nominated along with their Making the Band counterpart Day26, plus Gnarls Barkley, Playaz Circle and UGK.

The BET awards is scheduled to air June 24, 8 ET., on BET.

Diddy to Appear with Danity Kane and Day26 on Tour

The man who brought us, Making the Band's Danity Kane and Day26, says he'll hit select stages in the upcoming Making the Band tour. Sean "Diddy" Combs told MTV.com that select fans, maybe graced by his presence.

Day26 Comments on Danity Kane's Success

Day26 members recently spoke with SOHH about their success compared to Danity Kane's. Though Day26 topped the charts in the opening week, their debut album failed to reach Danity Kane's opening week sales.

"Big ups to Danity Kane," says Willie. "They been out before and have a lot of fans. Day 26 is new. [But] we did take the No. 1 spot our first week."

"It was a blessing just to be number one," says Que. "A lot of artists come out and a lot of artist that been out, don't go No. 1 or they're No. 1 for a day and then No. 10 or No. 12 the next day. But we stayed No. 1 for a whole week. It was a blessing especially coming off a reality TV show and into the music business."

Week 4 albums sales for Danity Kane's "Welcome to the Dollhouse" have been released. Their sales dropped nearly 50% to 27,000 from 47,000 in week 3. Bringing their total album sales to just under 400,000.

Danity Kane, Day 26 Making the Band 2008 Tour Dates

The Making the Band tour dates have finally been released. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Thursday, April 17 via BadBoyOnline.com and remaining tickets go on sale this weekend.

P. Diddy, who oversees the reality series, announced the outing yesterday (4/15) on MTV's "TRL." He also revealed that MTV cameras will document the tour for the new season of "Making the Band," which will air in late summer.

Diddy on Danity Kane: The sky is still the limit

Sean "Diddy" Combs recently sat down with Billboard magazine taking about the success of Danity Kane and Day26. Both MTV Making the Band groups topped the charts in back-to-back weeks.

Combs: I didn't know really what to expect. I felt that Danity Kane would have a strong follow-up -- I didn't really know that the new group would be as well-received as they have been. The miracle about both these groups is if you look at their radio play and radio pitch -- and their video pitch is just starting -- this is really coming off the strength of their fan bases. The sky is still the limit as far as growth potential for both of these groups.

DK Falls to Fourth in Album Sales in Week Two

While Danity Kane had a considerable drop (62 %) in their second week sales. DK dropped to fourth overall with 89,000 sold this week compared to last week's 236,000. Their MTB counterpart Day 26 debut album sold well, as it topped the charts moving 190,000 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Though, not as many as projected as first reported. Danity Kane sold 236,192 units in the US surpassing their debut album "Danity Kane" in first week of sales.

Danity Kane's "Welcome to the Dollhouse" topped the charts on the second-biggest sales week of the year thus far.

DK's sales are the biggest first week from a female pop or R&B group since Destiny's Child in 2001.

Danity Kane Drops Their Second Album.. Welcome to the Dollhouse

Bad Boy Records has announced the upcoming release of "WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE," the eagerly anticipated sophomore album from Danity Kane. The album -- which features the new hit single, "Damaged" -- arrives in stores and at all online retailers on March 18th.

"Damaged" sees the RIAA platinum-certified girl group -- currently starring in the latest and greatest season of MTV's blockbuster reality series, "Making The Band" -- joining forces with the up-and-coming production team, Stereotypes, known for their hit collaborations with such artists as Cupid, Ne-Yo, and Omarion. The track is currently a top 10 smash on iTunes' "Top Pop Songs" chart, while also scoring at a variety of radio formats, including Urban, Rhythmic, and Top 40 outlets nationwide. Bad Boy Records has announced the upcoming release of three new albums from the stars of the hit MTV reality series, "Making The Band." The news comes as the highly rated series kicks off its latest season, beginning tonight, January 28th at 10pm ET/PT (check local listings).

"Making The Band 4," Season 2 will feature previous MTB sensations Danity Kane, along with last year's as-yet-unnamed quintet and additional MTB4 finalist Donnie Klang. The upcoming season will see all three acts living together as they work to complete new albums, which will then be released in the weeks to follow. The releases kick off on March 11th, with the arrival the MTB4 quintet's hotly anticipated debut album. The following week will see Danity Kane rolling out their eagerly awaited second album, due in stores on March 18th.
